Holiday season made better for Cariboo youth with stocking drive

BGC Williams Lake Club will once again be collecting donations to help make the holidays brighter for youth

Every year, the BGC Williams Lake Club leads a Stockings for Children & Youth drive to help bring some cheer to those struggling.

The club collects donations and small stocking stuffer items to help bring a little more holiday joy to the lives of children and youth in need.

The items and donations are collected and used to fill stockings which are then given out to young people accessing their programs, many of whom are facing difficult circumstances over the holiday season.

Donations of small toys, art supplies, hygiene items, socks, gloves and treats are all accepted at 17 South Fourth Avenue in Williams Lake, across from Freshco.

These can be dropped off during weekday business hours before Dec. 6.

Financial contributions can also be given, so staff can purchase stocking stuffer items via an online donation or by sending a cheque to BGC Williams Lake Club at 17 South Fourthe Avenue, Williams Lake, B.C. V2G 1J6.

The organization has been supporting youth in Williams Lake for over 30 years through their programs and services.

"Your generosity will help create a brighter holiday season for children who could use a little extra joy," said Krista Harvey, manager of BGC Club Williams Lake in her email.
