A weekend of music, art and natural serenity is coming to Sooke next month.

The Sooke Secret Garden & Artisan Tour will return in June, giving residents access to beautiful private gardens, live music and the opportunity to engage with local artisan studios and vendors.

It's the 23rd edition of the Sooke Philharmonic Society's annual fundraiser, co-hosted by the Sooke Arts Council and a roster of community sponsors.

“It will be a wonderful opportunity to experience Sooke’s flourishing music and arts scene while wandering through our gorgeous private gardens,” Sharon Johnson, the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus’s administrative assistant, said in a news release.

This year, 14 artisan vendors will present work on-site, while six artisans will open their studios. Four special destinations are included on the tour, including the reopened Sooke Harbour House.

Ten gardens will be open for exploring, ranging from a multi-acre oceanfront property to cultivated backyards.

“From orchards and trout streams to native woodlands and exotic plantings – it truly takes two days to see it all,” said Johnson.

Members of the orchestra and chorus, plus musical friends, will perform jazz and chamber music.

The tour will run June 7-8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets are available for $40 at the Sooke Region Museum, Sooke Pharmasave, East Sooke Grocer and online.
