Eight people, all females, experienced windy, but sunny conditions during the third annual Witches Paddle in Williams Lake held Sunday, Oct. 6 at Scout Island.
After learning some safety tips from Natalie Swift, who encouraged everyone to keep together in pairs, the women embarked on the water - some in kayaks the others on stand up paddle boards.
"We are a small number but brave," Swift said.
Swift is a paddle boarder and runs an online group called SUP in the Puddle through Facebook.
It is a hub for paddling enthusiasts in and around Williams Lake whether they are paddleboarders, canoers or kayakers.
Prizes for the event were provided by Red Shred's Bike and Board, Canadian Tire, the STAND film, The Canadian Canoe Museum and The Open Book.
