Call for artists: Ladysmith Spring Art Escape

Artists welcome from Ladysmith and Chemainus

Applications are now open for the Spring Art Escape, organized by the Arts Council of Ladysmith and District. Applications are welcomed from artists and art groups within the Chemainus and Ladysmith and district boundaries.

Formerly known as the Spring Arts Tour, the Spring Art Escape is an open studio event that takes place on April 12 and 13. Attendees can go on a self-guided tour of artists’ studios, view art demonstrations, meet local artists and purchase work directly from them. It’s an opportunity to engage with creators, ask questions and learn about their practices and studios. The goal is to enhance understanding and appreciation of the variety of visual arts and artists in the area.

This is a juried event and artists will be evaluated on the quality of their work, studio accessibility, and layout of their studio. All participants must have a studio or workspace to exhibit in or may share studio space with other artists.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 31 and more information can be found on the Ladysmith Arts website.
