Organizers of a grad reunion for the Columneetza Secondary School class of 1974 hope to see a good turnout.

Slated for the weekend of Aug. 11 and 12, 2024, the event will consist of a dinner at the legion on Saturday beginning with socializing at 3 p.m. and a get-together at the legion campground at Felker Lake from noon on.

Bonnie Griffin (Burgess), Lynn Barker and Janet Stafford (Kaufman) were meeting at the Williams Library Saturday, July 13, to firm up some more plans. They have created a Facebook page and been attempting to contact as many of their former classmates as possible.

"We had 200 students in our grad class," Stafford said. "We have about 65 people on our Facebook page so we are still trying to find people. I've sent lots of messages to people through Facebook but have not heard back from some of them."

The Facebook page is called Grad 74 Reunions (Columneetza).

Griffin said they are excited to see people at the reunion.

"We had a 20th so we have not seen some people for a long time."

When asked if they remembered particular teachers, a few came to mind immediately such as Quintin Robertson who taught shorthand, Mr. Preston, the auto shop teacher, Rick Nelson, Mr. Chernoff and Harvey Glanville.

If someone does not have Facebook, they can send a query through email at ericjanstaff@gmail.com, Stafford said.
