The group 100 Fine Gentlemen of Oceanside Who Give a Damn, also known as 100 Men of Oceanside, donated $17,000 to Nanaimo's Haven Society.

The donation was made on June 4 during a cheque presentation attended by representatives of both organizations.

Founded in 2017, 100 Men of Oceanside is a group that meets quarterly, with each of its members contributing $100 at each meeting to support an eligible charitable group. In the past decade, the group has contributed over $260,000.

In a press release, the group pointed to Haven Society's work providing supports and services for the safety of individuals and families impacted by violence and abuse. The $17,000 is expected to be used to assist the society to maintain its program space in Oceanside and the operation of its 24/7 Crisis Line, which can be reached at 250-756-0616 or 1-888-756-0616.

More information can be found on the group's website at http://100oceansidemen.ca or by e-mailing info@100oceansidemen.ca.
